When you telephone our office - You will get a real live person on the other end of the phone. You won't hear a recorded menu telling you to press numbers on your phone. We still answer the phone by saying "Bara Office Building" just because it's been done that way for fifty (50) years. Once an attendant answers the phone, if the person you are calling is unavailable, we will offer to transfer you to that persons private voice mail.

During hours when we are closed, you will not have the option of leaving a voice mail. This is because we don't have that automated answering module that asks you to press numbers on your phone.

If you are calling from a cell phone and loose your connection, please wait until you have a good signal again before redialing us.

Our main telephone numbers are (area code 256) 586-4111, 4112, 4113 and 4114. We have direct lines from Birmingham 322-7452 and Huntsville 534-6922. We also have two Toll-Free Nationwide numbers, 1-800-551-6253 and 6254. Our dedicated fax line is 256-586-4138. Note: We also have six unpublished telephone lines so that your call will roll over to the next available line when the primary line is busy.

If you are calling to schedule an appointment, please tell the attendant. If you ask for someone in the Tax or Accounting Departments, they will have to transfer you back to the Appointment Clerk or Receptionist.
